Weekly Play

Hi Ladies,

Weekly Play officially begins this Thursday -- morning tee times at 9:00am and evening tee times at 5:30pm.

This week's "game of the week" will be "regular play" from the red tees -- Trestle Nine. In the weeks to come please find the "game of the week" on the schedule in the front of the white LLGA binder behind the desk in the pro shop. Also, please keep your regular play score in addition to the "game of the week" score, as we'll be tracking them to determine Most Improved Player at the end of the season (a sample card is also in the front of the binder).

If you cannot play on Thursday, you are welcome to "make up" your play day game until Tuesday of the following week as long as another LLGA member plays with you and signs your scorecard.

Please put all scorecards in Locker 10 in the ladies' locker room. :)

Enjoy!
Michelle Hartman

PS...Don't forget your quarters for the "flagstick" and "chip-in" cups!

LLGA News

Hello, ladies, and happy Monday!

I just talked with Bill, and he is re-scheduling this week's clinic, as only two people are signed up and the weather continues to interfere.

So, here is the new game plan. Come out Thursday night at 7 for a wine/cheese social that will kick off the LLGA year, and we'll have a brief meeting. I will ask that they set us up in the back room, and provide wait staff. Each person who comes out will be given two drink tickets, so you can get whatever you want to drink. If you want to, go ahead and bring your $30 dues for the year.

Bill is moving the clinic to April 27-29th, the week before our first scramble.

I look forward to seeing all of you Thursday night!

Sherri

LLGA Kickoff -- 2010

Hello, Ladies,

Your LLGA Board met last weekend, and we have a great year ahead of us. Last year, June and Michelle met with Bill G., and put together the attached schedule. Bill will be coordinating the couple's scrambles, and the tournaments (with help from June). We are going to change the Southern Belle Tournament to a 4-Lady Scramble, on Bill's advice, to promote participation and attract new members.

Michelle Hartman will be managing weekly play this year, and will put together a calendar for play each month.

Donna Crozat (Secretary) and Claire Thompson (Treasurer) are assisting Bill in decisions regarding the forward tees you may have read about.

Recently, you received an e-mail about a punch card option for ladies, to encourage participation. This idea came from the Base (they use this), and the fact that Bill has great participation at his clinics, but we are not converting these ladies to members. Many are new to the area, and/or new to golf, and are unsure about joining a club.

Our first event of the year is the Spring Clinic, which will take place from 5:30-7 pm on March 23-25, with a wine/cheese party on the 25th at 7 pm. Come out and participate, and please attend the wine/cheese social.

At the social we will update everyone's phone/e-mail information, and begin collecting the $30 dues for 2010. We will also vote on the punch card option.

Weekly play will begin 1 April, at 9 am and 5:30 pm.

I look foward to seeing all of you soon, and to having a great year!

Sherri Goss

Christmas Scramble

Remember to sign up for the Christmas scramble which will be held Sunday, Dec. 13th, starting at 1 P.M. The Christmas party will be held immediately after the scramble and will be at Jeanne White's house. Sign up in the Pro Shop (923-5222) checking off if you are participating in the scramble, and also if you will be at the party. If you will be at the party, sign up for a food item on the paper in the locker room. If you are attending the party, bring a new $20 wrapped gift for the gift exchange. Do not include a name tag. It is time to locate your Christmas sox and earrings to wear to the scramble and party. See you there. Jane

Minutes after Halloween Scramble

Landings Ladies' Golf Association – October 25th, 2009
Meeting Minutes

The mini-meeting of the Landings Ladies' Golf Association was held on Sunday, October 25th, 2009, after the Halloween Scramble.. The President (June Taylor) ran the meeting with the Vice President (Adrienne Taylor), and Treasurer (Sherri Goss) being present. Our Secretary (Kim Stewart) was absent. Michelle Hartman recorded the minutes.

Secretary’s Report – Minutes from last meeting accepted as read.

Treasurer’s Report – There was discussion about on what to spend agreed surplus for the upcoming Christmas Party. It was agreed that Sherri would buy a HoneyBaked Ham. Michelle agreed to create and post a sign-up sheet for all other items needed at the party.

Old Business

Gold Party is scheduled for Saturday, November 7th at the Landings Clubhouse from 2-4pm. Emilio’s will be offering drink and appetizer specials. This event is open to anyone.

New Business

Revision of officers includes removing Debbie Tanton from Treasurer and replacing her name with Claire Thompson. Officers will be installed at the Christmas Party December 13th.

Scholarship Committee will include Robin Miller, Shelley Lenhard and Ann Bailey. There will be $500 available for a scholarship next year.

Ladies’ Choice teams may include ladies that are members of the Landings Golf Club but not necessarily members of the LLGA.

Punch Card – an idea was presented to sell a punch card to prospective ladies interested in Landings memberships. The terms of this card would include:
$99 for (10) 9-hole rounds to be used solely for LLGA weekly play days (or make-up days) & scrambles
lady will pay yearly LLGA dues
card will be for greens fees only; cart will be additional
only 1 card will be issued per person and will expire in 1 year
card is an option for new prospective members only; returning Landings members do not qualify
We will vote on this in December at the brief meeting after the Christmas Scramble.

Sherri is interested in a committed group of lady golfers wanting to improve their games with set tee times on the weekend.

Pro Lady – November 12th

Prizes were issued and it was agreed that next year payouts will be on a monthly basis and will be in cash.

Meeting adjourned at 4:50pm
